The accomodations are on the southern border of U of T, a very short walk from Spadina street cars. I rented a single dorm room - spartan but clean. Washrooms down the hall with shower cubicles (with lockable doors) were also clean. Check in time was 3pm, but once you register at the front desk (I did so around 10am), you can drop your luggage off in a securely locked room, with access any time you want. I paid around $50 for one night, and it was a great place from which to roam the city on foot and via the metro. Streets safe and teeming with crowds as always. There were a number of other tourists and summer students using the same facility. Front desk was courteous and helpful. The accomodations are safe and clean enough for bringing children in tow, in my opinion. Try Pomegranate Persian restaurant 422 college street. UofT bookstore is huge with a Barnes-and-Noble type section also. Shoe Museum, Royal Ontario Museum and gift shop. I hear Midi is good (French rest, 168 McCaul). Bon Voyage. I rode up on the Megabus from Buffalo (arrived at bus statioin at Bay and Edward about 6am), and walked up to New College.

This summer dorm facility was very safe, clean, convenient (close to downtown), inexpensive, friendly, with own private room with airconditioning & internet facilities. Food was just so so, but there are lots of little shops up on bloor, a 10 min walk away, as well as a 24-hour Tim Hortons (coffee etc) and a 24-hour McDonalds.

I will definitely use it again. And yes, it is next door to Robarts Library, one of the finest research libraries in the world and is a 20-mins relaxed walk to Bloor and Yonge, the hub of Toronto. You will definitely be satisfied if you are a traveller on a fixed budget! Travel well!!

This was a hostel-like accommodation (dorm rooms). Not much people there early June. School was out and it seemed as if travellers had not started coming in yet. We had the place to ourselves practically. The environment was nice - quiet and somewhat residential - yet minutes away to entertainment/dining etc. Given that this is a university, the nearby places caters to student's budget - so cheap dining was abundant. I will definitely recommend to fellow travellers.

It's cheap and the location is excellent. It's a dormitory like hotel and students will be familiar with that kind of environment. Security and safety is not a problem there.
